Hera Piano Trio
Introducing Hera Piano Trio
Named after Hera, the Greek goddess of women, the Hera Piano Trio champions female composers by dedicating at least half of every program to their music. The trio brings together three trail-blazing young female artists; Caterina Bordoni on violin, Gabriela Peres on cello, and Winnie Su on piano. With a sound described as “sparkling and engaging”, they bring their individuality and energy together in conjunction with their diverse cultures to challenge the stage.
Since their formation, the Hera Piano Trio has received guidance from esteemed chamber musicians of international renown including Hannah Roberts, Kathryn Stott, Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), Pavel Fischer (Škampa Quartet), Harvey Davis (The Pleyel Ensemble) and Jeremy Young. They were finalists at the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition in 2024 and performed at the Wigmore Hall.
From Italy, Caterina studied with Yair Kless and Zakar Bron, and was a prize-winner in the Zanuccoli International Chamber Music Competition. Gabriela is a Portuguese cellist currently studying with Jacob Shaw at the RNCM, having been awarded a full ABRSM scholarship and the Manchester Collective PES. From Sydney, Australia, Winnie currently studies with Kathryn Stott and Graham Scott, and has garnered recognition for her versatility at the piano, including appearances with The Hallé and at Buxton International Festival as a collaborative pianist.
All three members of the Hera Piano Trio are committed and passionate pedagogues involved in organizations that aim to improve accessibility to musical education and nurturing future talent.
Caterina plays a 1790 Gaetano Santagiuliana violin, from Vicenza, Italy with the generosity of the Harrison-Frank Family Trust, and Gabriela plays in a 1778 Sebastian Dallinger cello from Vienna on loan.
